Bonu Azizova, M.A. (HNE Eberswalde): Low-carbon Uzbek Houses: Modern dwellings for a low-carbon future: renewable materials and sustainable design in Central Asian construction

Mod.: Dr. Julia Klauder

This presentation explores low-carbon housing strategies in Uzbekistan, focusing on the integration of local renewable materials and passive design principles. Based on my PhD research, it compares energy performance and emissions of different residential typologies—including traditional adobe, conventional brick, concrete panel, and a newly built pilot wooden house. The talk highlights practical design lessons and broader implications for sustainable construction in Central Asia.
